The Historic Marathon Rally Show 2015 had its own website at the time. Unfortunately with the passage on time the website and much of the content disappeared from public view. I have managed to recover much of the material. The event was staged at the British Motor Museum Gaydon on 31 May 2015.
The Historic Marathon Rally Show featured legendary rally drivers, navigators and cars that competed in Marathon Rallies from the late ‘60s to the early ‘90s. The Historic Marathon Rally Show was sponsored by the Endurance Rally Association.
The event, free to the public, celebrated the exploits and endeavours of those men, women and cars that competed in International Historic Rallies pre 1982 with emphasis on Marathon cars of this period such as the 1968 London to Sydney Marathon, the 1970 London to Mexico World Cup Rally, the 1974 London-Sahara-Munich World Cup Rally, right up to the second 1977 London to Sydney Marathon.
In addition, there was a tribute to the Endurance Rally Association’s fantastic Pirelli Classic Marathons of 1988-91, organised by Philip Young, who is generally credited with having kick-started the historic rally movement, together with a celebration of the East African Safari Rallies of the ‘70s and ‘80s.
The Historic Marathon Rally Show had live rally car parades, guest interviews, Q&A sessions, club displays and regalia for sale.
Since the original website was built more material and in particular more photos have come to light. You can see these photos on a page here: historic-marathon-rally-show-2015-photos/
A program was produced as a souvenir of the show. You read more that on another page. Historic Marathon Rally Show 2015 Programme.
