Triumph car 88 World Cup Rally

Triumph entered several cars in the 1970 World Cup Rally. These photos show a Triumph 2.5PI car reg number XJB 305H.

Ted Taylor has been busy scanning photos from his collection.

All these and more will be available for display for WCR50+1 event next year.

Car 88 was crewed by Culcheth/Syer. I think Johnstone must have said something to upset the cameraman – these are the only photos of them at Lisbon!

Datsun 180B SSS to be restored

This is the Datsun 180B SSS from the 1977 London to Sydney rally that Craig Shiel is currently restoring in Australia. If anyone has any information on this car he would love to hear from you. Craig as been in touch with the original three drivers.

1968 Marathon Rally start

Here is a gallery of photographs that taken at the start of the 1968 London to Sydney Marathon Rally on 24 November 1968 and at Warwick Farm Sydney on 17 December 1968. The images are scans of Agfa 35mm slides and come from a flickr gallery uploaded by Archie Hall.

A 1970 WCR Archive on eBay

I wonder who won the recent eBay auction for a large collection of documents. The archive relating to the 1970 World Cup Rally BMC 1800 entry by competitor, archive compiler and main driver Peter Jopp.
